A recent study from Employment Hero has revealed that fewer than half of all Singaporean workers are interested in relocating internationally for new job opportunities, down from 55% in 2021.
The report also indicated that 30% of Singaporeans who recently started new jobs were already searching for their next positions.
A growing dissatisfaction with their roles, cited by 34% of job seekers, and poor company cultures, mentioned by 33%, were the main reasons for these trends.
However, salary levels also remained a crucial factor in recruitment and retention, with 53% of employees willing to change jobs for a pay increase in 2023, a slight decrease from the 54% recorded in 2021.
Furthermore, 43% of employees said they would stay in their current role if offered a salary increase.
Kevin Fitzgerald, Managing Director of Asia at Employment Hero, advised employers to be transparent about job security and show greater appreciation in order to strengthen loyalty and retention.
