A majority of Filipino candidates are turning down job offers as HR leaders are not acting fast enough to secure their employment from other competitors, a report found.
Jobstreet by SEEK’s “2022-2023 Outlook Hiring, Compensations & Benefits” report found that three in four candidates (72%) in the Philippines were turning down job offers because they had already accepted a different one.
Other reasons include an unsatisfactory salary package (63%), wanting to stay with their current employer (37%), wanting greater flexibility (34%), and wanting better benefits (27%).
Meanwhile, employers said their main criteria when it comes to hiring is qualifications (61%), followed by work experience (60%), salary expectations (29%), overall interview performance (25%), and attitude (24%).
The report was based on a survey of 438 hiring personnel from 438 companies.
