Singapore learners catching up with digital skills demand

Singapore learners are catching up with the demand for digital skills, according to a new report. Coursera’s Global Skills Report 2023 revealed that the most in-demand skill areas driving employment in the digital economy are business, technology, and data science. Registered learners from Singapore registered high percentiles for these skills.

AI skills are also in high demand in Singapore, with job postings for AI-related roles surging by 95% between March 2018 and 2023. Singapore learners are also more likely to develop AI skills proficiency than other countries.

The report’s findings are a positive sign for Singapore’s workforce, as digital skills are becoming increasingly important in the global economy. The government has also made a concerted effort to promote digital literacy and skills development, with initiatives such as the SkillsFuture movement.

This is good news for Singapore’s economy, as it means that the country will have a workforce with the skills necessary to compete in the digital age. It is also good news for Singaporean workers, as it means that they will have more opportunities to find well-paying jobs.
