VIETNAM: Chinese display maker, BOE Technology Group Co Ltd., which supplies both Apple Inc. and Samsung Electronics Co, is planning to build two factories in Vietnam.
According to a report from Reuters, citing two anonymous sources, the investment may total up to US$400 million.
The firm is in talks to rent land in north Vietnam to add to its relatively small plant in the south.
One source said that BOE has plans to rent up to 100 hectares at a cost of US$150 million, 20% of which will be used for a plant that makes remote control systems.
BOE and Apple have yet to comment on this alleged investment.
