When DBS Bank recognised the need to personalise the employee experience and improve mobility for a future-proof workforce, the company began to utilise artificial intelligence (AI) to journey alongside employees.
iGrow is the first career platform within the company harnessing AI to help employees identify their strengths and align future career aspirations. It allows them to search for roles related to specific keywords, whether of personal interest or skills that they currently have. The platform then provides the employees with a list of roles or positions, as well as available courses that they can take to prepare or equip them for these. They can update their skillsets on iGrow frequently, allowing the platform to suggest more accurate or appropriate roles and courses every time.
AI identifies suitable learning programmes for either upskilling or reskilling, depending on the employee’s desired career direction. On the flip side, the system is able to identify new internal opportunities that open within the company and connect these with members of the workforce who are deemed suitable for these new roles.
The over 10,000 learning programmes within DBS Bank range from leadership development and unconscious bias to technical training, paving the way for employees to bridge any skills gaps across various areas. iGrow acts as a powerful tool for employees to explore their options and understand what it will take to attain specific career goals in an environment that nurtures their sense of empowerment and a culture of continuous learning.
On internal mobility, Group Executive and Singapore Country Head Shee Tse Koon shared, “Retail bankers move to institutional banking, (those in) technology have moved into business, and operations move to business and even back to operations,” emphasising the need to learn and innovate continuously.
