Case in Point: How Prudential Thailand creates a safe space for employee growth and belonging

When Prudential Thailand saw the need to create a seamless work environment for their employees to thrive regardless of life stage, the company launched the 3P framework as its employer value proposition (EVP). It falls under the goal of approaching employee engagement and wellness holistically, encompassing everything from rewards and work environment.

Banking on the company’s purpose, “For every life, for every future,” Prudential Thailand seeks to include their own people in their commitment to help Thai people live healthier and wealthier lives.

The 3P framework is composed of PRU Space, referring to a vibrant work environment where employees feel safe to collaborate; PRU Care, referring to a culture of caring for one another through wellbeing initiative and career growth paths; and Proud to be PRU, referring to a sense of belonging driven by a D&I.

PRU Space allows for cross-functional collaboration, enabling a remote workforce while also setting up an innovative co-working space at Samyan Mitrtown in Pathum Wan, Bangkok City.

Meanwhile, wellbeing initiatives under PRU Care are four-pronged to include physical, mental, financial, and social health of employees. These include wellness days and leaves, access to telemedicine services, and financial literacy programmes. The company’s total rewards programme also takes into consideration the unique lifestyles and demographics of employees. Single employees are able to enrol their eligible parents for medical coverage under Prudential, and in the same way another can enrol their D&I partner or dependent.

Enhancing sense of belonging through Proud to be PRU particularly shined during the pandemic. This aspect of the 3P framework includes virtual employee engagement programmes and flexible work policies to help employees cope with the health crises and other familial obligations. Recreational activities online like concerts and chit-chat sessions are also included.

As a result, Prudential Thailand scored the highest employee engagement score across the entire Prudential Group as reported through the annual group people survey.

“HR should foster a culture of diversity & inclusion that embraces differences. Diversity & inclusion can increase not only higher employee engagement, but also higher innovation and creativity,” says Rosanun Chankasame, Chief Human Resources Officer of Prudential Thailand. “We would like to see our colleagues enjoy coming to work and thrive at their best by creating a culture where our people can reach their fullest potential.”
