Flash Coffee lays off employees in Singapore and Indonesia

Retail coffee chain Flash Coffee has reportedly cut jobs in Singapore and Indonesia. Flash Coffee Indonesia’s ex Head of PR and Communications, Randy Salim said the layoffs were due to “region-wide (reorganisation) and ongoing financial efforts”.

The coffee chain opened more than 200 stores since its launch in 2020 and employed over 1,000 staff. In Singapore, it had 250 employees across its head office and more than 30 stores.

In October, the coffee company also raised an additional USD 55 million in Series B funding. This came a few months after it raised USD 32.8 million in a Series B1 funding.

The company’s CEO, David Brunier said last April that they aim to have an outlet “every 500 meters in all major Asian cities”.
