Everything is set up for a big, challenging, and hopefully rewarding year ahead for HR professionals across the region.
As businesses return to the office on the first working day of 2023, some issues remain on the near horizon. The Covid-19 pandemic, for example, continues to haunt the working world, particularly as China grapples with a new surge in infections.
Remote working is still a key cause of concern for many workplaces in the now largely unrestricted economies of Southeast Asia. There are struggles activating both one-size-fits-all policies and more flexible options, and HR leaders are also still working out ways to manage performance in remote settings.
The global economy is also impacting HR teams in Southeast Asia. Inflation has outpaced wage growth, job satisfaction among staff is at record lows, and a looming downturn is adding uncertainty to both sides of the employer-employee relationship in 2023.
These, and other issues, will be highlighted in Chief of Staff Asia’s annual look at the coming year’s HR phenomena expected. The Looking Ahead: HR Trends for 2023 report will be available for subscriber download from 9:00am tomorrow.
And there’s also much, much more in store for Chief of Staff readers in our second year. Look out for more interviews, more video, more awards, and even a new website experience coming early in 2023.
From our team to you and your’s, we wish you an exciting, and prosperous New Year ahead.
