The Indonesian Industry Ministry and the South Korean National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA) have signed a collaboration agreement to strengthen digital transformation cooperation in the manufacturing and HR sectors.
The agreement covers a range of activities, including information exchange, business and technology exchange, knowledge transfer, and the promotion of the use of ICT in educational units. The two agencies will also work together to conduct seminars, workshops, and joint events in fields of mutual interest.
“This collaboration can generate many benefits for us,” said Arnes Lukman, Head of the Industrial Human Resources Education and Training Centre at the Indonesian Industry Ministry. “After the collaboration signing, we hope we can immediately discuss plans to implement activities together.”
NIPA is a South Korean government organization under the National Research Council (NRC), which oversees the Science and Technology Policy Institute (STEPI) of South Korea. NIPA and the Indonesian Industry Ministry have previously collaborated in five sectors, including electric vehicles, digital transformation, digital start-ups, smart factories, augmented reality (AR), and virtual reality (VR).
“We hope that NIPA can connect industries in Indonesia and Korea to carry out digital transformation,” said NIPA President Hur Sung-Wook.
The collaboration between Indonesia and South Korea is a sign of the growing bilateral relations between the two countries. Diplomatic relations between Indonesia and South Korea will enter their 50th anniversary year this year, and the two countries have recently upgraded their partnership to a special strategic partnership.
