Qoala adapts with workforce trim, layoffs 80 employees

Qoala, one of the players in the Indonesian insurtech sector, has decided to reevaluate its workforce composition and streamline its operations to better align with current market trends.

The decision to lay off 80 employees in Indonesia and Malaysia was not taken lightly, as Qoala understands the impact on the affected individuals and their families. The company’s spokesperson emphasised that this restructuring is a necessary step to optimise its operational efficiency and resource allocation. The move is also aimed at adapting to the changing needs and preferences of customers while ensuring a sustainable future for the company.

The company’s decision is also motivated by the two-year review of its organisational structure.  In a statement, Qoala’s CEO expressed gratitude to the employees who have contributed to the company’s growth and success thus far.

Qoala has retail insurance products such as home, health, and vehicle coverage through its omnichannel platform. It has offices in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.
