IT executives in Thailand are calling on political parties to focus their IT policies on human resource development, equipping people with future skills, and preparing the country for a digital economy to generate more jobs.
Thanachart Numnonda, executive director of IMC Institute, stressed the importance of upskilling and reskilling the workforce for the future.
Sarun Sutuntivorakoon, president of the Thai Venture Capital Association, highlighted the current shortage of skilled workers and the need for policies to develop human skills that boost the country’s competitiveness.
Siriwat Vongjarukorn, CEO of SET-listed tech firm MFEC, urged an urgent shift to a digital economy, emphasizing the creation of tech-related jobs and increased revenue.
The executives also suggested reallocating more state budget for human resource development and promoting digitisation in various sectors.
