JDL Express Indonesia, the logistics arm of e-commerce firm JD.id, will cease operations soon, according to an announcement on its website from January 22.
JDL Express has stopped accepting new user registrations since January 1.
Prior to announcing its closure, JDL Express had 3,000 couriers, 11 warehouses, and more than 250 drop points throughout Jakarta and other Indonesian centres.
Its parent company, JD.id, is a joint venture of Provident Capital and Chinese ecommerce giant JD.com. According to anonymous sources in a South China Morning Post news report, JD.com is planning to exit both the Thailand and Indonesia markets this year.
In December last year, JD.id laid off around 200 employees, or around 30% of its staff.
