HR TECHNOLOGY: An estimated 69% of organisations worldwide switched to using HR technology for the first time during the Covid-19 pandemic and its related community lockdowns.
This was a key finding in a recent global survey by India-based HR technology provider Qandle. It also revealed that 53% of its survey respondents said they switched to using HR technology solutions during the movement restrictions in their home countries.
The research, which collated the experience of over 1,000 organisations, showed that the biggest reason behind the switch was that companies wanted to track the productivity of their remote-working employees (29.6% of respondents cited this reason).
Over 21% of respondents said motivating employees daily during the lockdown was another big challenge that HR tech was able to help with.
“People have been familiar with HR Tech for payroll, hence the chances of getting disappointed there were less,” said Himanshu Aggarwal, Chief Technology Officer of Qandle. “However, tracking employee productivity was a new demand, where the solutions are still not refined enough.”
