Moving On Up: New HR leaders at Merkle DACH and more

HR APPOINTMENTS: Here’s what’s new and who’s changing roles across the HR community in Southeast Asia.

Customer experience agency Merkle DACH recently named Franz Josef Magallanes as its HR Partner for its Philippine operations. Based in Manila, Magallanes oversees the firm’s overall Philippines HR strategy to build strong partnerships. He is also responsible for leading the development and delivery of HR strategy and communication, implementation and measurement of key people initiatives.

Prior to joining Merkle DACH, Magallanes was the Head of HR at advertising company Wunderman Thompson for over four years. In his previous role, Magallanes developed and implemented various HR programs and oversaw the entirety of the employee life-cycle through close coordination with the firm’s talent director for Asia and the Philippines CEO.

Malaysia-based oil palm plantation Genting Plantations has appointed Loke Kean Mun as its Vice President for HR. In this role, Loke is responsible for developing operational HR strategies, performance management, people processes and frameworks.

Before joining Genting Plantations, Loke was the General Manager for HR at Top Glove, a Malaysia-based medical equipment manufacturing firm. At Top Glove, Loke oversaw the full spectrum of the company’s human resources efforts.
