Expatriate salary and benefits packages are rising in Southeast Asia in local currency terms, but becoming more affordable when compared to other global business hubs.
This is according to data from the latest MyExpatriate Market Pay Survey, by ECA International.
Employers need to set aside around USD 250,000 annually for middle managers based in Singapore and the Philippines, covering the three key components of salary, benefits (including accommodation and schooling for dependent children), and associated taxation.
The average package total for expatriates based in Indonesia and Thailand is slightly lower.
