The Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF) has introduced the Maritime Workforce Transformation Guidebook, created in collaboration with Pacific Carriers Limited (PCL) and Pacific International Lines (PIL), offering practical job redesign approaches for maritime companies.
The guidebook is based on the findings and recommendations of a job redesign pilot conducted in 2022, supported by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).
The methodology aims to make maritime jobs more appealing to potential talents and establish sustainable career development paths.
Ernst & Young Advisory Pte. Ltd. (EY) provided guidance in refreshing the value propositions of technical roles and planning career development interventions.
SMF, PCL, and PIL leaders all expressed positive feedback about the pilot and hope the guidebook will help transform more roles in the industry.
