The Singaporean government says the resident labour force continued its positive trend in 2022, with employment rates rising for a second consecutive year.
The Minister of Manpower (MOM) annual report on Labour Force Status found that the employment rate in the city-state has risen, so have incomes, and there are now a higher number of residents employed as professionals, managers, executives and technicians in 2022.
“The broad-based improvement in resident labour force performance reflects the continued economic recovery and the gradual normalisation of business and social activities,” the MOM said.
“This will enable us to develop our workers and build a more competitive and resilient workforce, while ensuring that wage growth is sustainable and supported by productivity growth.”
