“The lifting of domestic and international travel restrictions worldwide is accelerating the recovery of MICE,” TCEB president Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthayat (pictured) said at a press event. “TCEB is embarking on a five-year action plan (2023–2027) to advance Thailand’s meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) industry.”

Called the “TCEB Go Strategy”, the Thai government is working with local and international organisations to enhance its position as a leading MICE destination.

As a part of this strategy, the bureau will work on investing in programmes and resources for MICE entrepreneurs and stakeholders.

The TCEB is also working with the Thailand Ministry of Finance to bid for the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group for 2026.

Thailand received 7.93 million MICE travelers from October to December of 2022, which resulted in industry revenue of THB 28.53 billion (USD 820 million).

“As for the five-year action plan under the TCEB Go strategy, it is estimated that over 160 million MICE travelers will visit Thailand, generating a total revenue of over THB 945 billion (USD 27.15 billion),” Chiruit said.
