Vietnam needs to invest in the AI ecosystem across various factors and fields to benefit from the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI), according to Torus.AI Company’s Director, Nguyen Tien Dung.
Speaking at a talk titled “Investment for AI: Opportunities for Vietnam” held by Tia Sang Magazine on May 7, Dung emphasized the importance of investing in computer hardware and software, cloud computing, data, machine learning algorithms, AI applications, user markets, and regulatory systems.
AI is expected to generate over 15 trillion USD annually, equivalent to more than 10% of the global economic output, by 2030.
Vietnam has well-trained young AI researchers and ranks second in Southeast Asia for the number of AI patents.
However, the country’s data and computing infrastructure is still in its early stages, with scattered and unprocessed data requiring standardisation.
