“World first” training programme aims to propel women in technology into boardrooms

A newly-launched training program aims to take female leaders and high-potential specialists in Singapore’s rapidly growing technology industry, and prepare them for supervisory board positions.

The Singapore Computer Society and Singapore Institute of Directors jointly launched the Women in Tech Board Readiness Programme on February 20.

The year-long programme aims to prepare female C-suite executives in the technology industry for board directorship roles.

It leverages on pre-existing board readiness programmes from the Singapore Institute of Directors, along with a broad set of “knowledge partners” including Bain & Company, Boston Consulting Group, Deloitte, EY, McKinsey & Company, and PwC.

“We took an ecosystem-wide approach to develop the programme with more than 20 preeminent professional services firms who joined us as knowledge partners. I have a strong feeling this is a world-first,” SID CEO Terence Quek said.
