All Covid-19 restrictions on movements and gatherings have been removed by the country effective December 30, 2022.
President Joko Widodo said, “There will be no more restrictions on gatherings and movements,” during a press conference.
Widodo urged Indonesians to remain vigilant and to continue to wear masks indoors and in crowded places.
Prior to his announcement, most restrictions had already been scrapped for those who have received at least one booster shot.
According to data from Indonesia’s health ministry, almost 75% of Indonesians above the age of 6 have received two Covid-19 vaccine shots.
