Women’s leadership in organizations is key to boosting productivity and enhancing economic inclusiveness, according to Ida Fauziyah, Indonesia’s Minister of Manpower.
Speaking at the Conference on Women’s Leadership in Public-Sector Organisations for Productivity Enhancement, Fauziyah urged policymakers and government representatives to prioritise increasing the representation of women in managerial roles.
She emphasised that women possess inherent qualities that make them well-suited for leadership roles, citing their patience, empathy, and skills in networking, communication, and multitasking.
The conference, aligned with the APO 2025 vision, focused on the relationship between gender inclusiveness and productivity. Indra Pradana Singawinata, Secretary-General of APO, echoed Fauziyah’s sentiments, stressing the need for proactive measures to bolster women’s representation in economic activities to achieve a higher level of inclusiveness.
In her speech, Fauziyah highlighted the importance of creating an inclusive workplace culture that promotes gender equality and diversity. She also called for more opportunities for women to develop their leadership skills and advance their careers.
